About Chris Ross

Chris started drawing portraits at the age of 9. At 11 yrs old he discovered his love for baseball and from that time on he would draw his childhood idols such as Ron Cey, Rod Carew, Nolan Ryan and now current stars like David Wright and Derek Jeter. Chris won several awards for drawing in his early years and was in honors art classes throughout High School. He graduated, magna cum laude in illustration and design from Connecticut Institute of Art in Greenwich, CT.
After working as a comp illustrator in advertising and freelancing for a number of years, he started painting on baseballs in 2000 at the suggestion from his stepfather, Mike who is an avid Mickey Mantle fan and memorabilia collector. Following his stepfather's advice and through a lot of trial and error, Chris followed through and developed the process of these baseball portraits to becoming the truly beautiful works of art they are today. The stitches create a natural frame to his portraits, and Chris' expertise in portraiture and attention to detail is surpassed by no one in the industry on a baseball.
There are a number of collectors and athletes out there that have added to the value of their single signed baseballs by having the amazing work that Chris does painted on the ball. These baseballs are a truly unique gift for the person that has everything, someone with a true love for baseball or a kid who wants to be immortalized like a professional.
After looking around you will know what all collectors that have purchased a ball from Chris know, that these
can truly be considered... "The Best Balls in the Business!"
